Painting the 78TH Lanarkshire, 3rd Blantyre, Scout Hall

On Friday 01st September 2023, eleven operatives & staff from Scottish Road Partnership based at Amey's Bargeddie Office, used their Social Impact Day (SID) painting the internal walls, ceiling & doors of the Scout Hall attached to the rear of Livingstone Memorial Church, Glasgow Road, Blantyre. The Group Scout Leader, Chris McCrory, arranged for the SRP Team to attend and freshen-up the inside of the Scout Hall with several coats of paint, to improve the overall look of the venue and provide a clean and appealing environment for the Scouts to train and organise other activities. The SRP volunteers that took part in the SID were Derek Kelly; Kimberley Mckenna; Mark Walsh; Josh Mills; Gary McCool; Denis Marley; John Orr; Brian Wilkinson; John Clarke, Ewan Baird and Callum McGowan.

The 78TH Lanarkshire, 3rd Blantyre, Scout Group thanked the Amey Staff for their efforts and were delighted with the quality finish given to their venue.

Group Scout Leader Chris McCrory said:

At 3rd Blantyre Scout Group we have 90 young people supported by a team of 15 adults. The leadership team really appreciate the Scottish Roads Partnership & Amey volunteers taking time-out from their normal working day, to paint our Scout Hall and make it a pleasant space for us all to meet for activities.’
