Amey Supports Rainbow Valley Charity

On Sunday 06 September 2026, Amey Staff & Friends enter a 7-a-side Football Tournament at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, Motherwell
Amey’s Transport Infrastructure staff in Glasgow, along with friends and family, organised a 7-a-side football tournament on Sunday 06 September, in aid of the Rainbow Valley Cancer Support Charity based in Clydebank, who’s services extend across the whole of the central belt area of Scotland.
Amongst the businesses taking part were some Amey employees, with several members of the same family comprising of Yvonne; Douglas & Emma Craig and Kimberley Mckenna. The family decided to take part in the event as a group in support of Yvonne, who was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024, but after receiving great care and treatment from her illness from the NHS, is now cancer free. Her family and friends sought sponsorship from friends and work colleagues to raise money for the Rainbow Valley Charity, as a thank you for their fantastic support during Yvonne’s illness.
Along with other friends and colleagues, the Craig family took part in the afternoon event which hosted 10 different football teams who had entered the competition. The organisers of the event did an excellent job of raising raffle and team prizes, amongst which were over 90 bottles of spirits; a 40 inch TV; a 32 inch TV; a Nintendo Switch and the top prize a PlayStation 5.
The event on the day raised over £2,300 for the Rainbow Valley Charity.
Amey’s Kimberley stated ‘I just wanted to say THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart to everyone that donated and popped along to my fundraising event. It was a brilliant day, with lots of money donated and bags of fun involved. I think the football participants, both boys 7 girls, will have stiff legs and sore muscles today, I know am knackered. 🤣 🤕 😴 We have counting all the donations made which came to a total raised for the Rainbow Valley Charity of £2,334.60p. I have attached just some of the photos from yesterday, so to reiterate, a massive well done to the raffle winners and various teams that took part in the competition and congratulations to the team from Wishaw, who won the competition’ 👏⚽️ 🥇
Rainbow Valley is a charity that has developed unique courses following experiences a family encountered after a cancer diagnosis. It emphasizes the importance of including supporters, family, and friends in its programs, recognizing that cancer affects more than just the patient.
