June 2025 - Amey Staff & Family take part in 5k muddy 'Race for Life' in Edinburgh Park
Amey’s Chosen Charity - Cancer Research UK – Given Support in June 2025
Early Sunday morning, 22 June 2025, Kimberley Mckenna, her mum Yvonne & dad Douglas Craig, backed up by other family members, Rachel Forsyth & Kye Brown, took part in the ‘Race for Life’ ‘Pretty Muddy 5k’ run at The Meadows Park, Melville Drive, in Edinburgh.
The family decided to take part in the event as a group in support of Yvonne, who was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024, but after receiving great care and treatment from her illness from the NHS, is now cancer free. Her family sought sponsorship from friends and work colleagues to raise money for Cancer Research UK, Amey’s chosen charity of choice for the past few years.
Kimberley and Family ran the muddy 5 kilometers in one hour, which was a fantastic effort across heavy parkland. Kym said ‘It was a difficult, cold and muddy event but such a great laugh. We had so much fun on the day that we have signed up for the run next year.’ ‘Maybe I should start running and train for it next year and see if I can complete the muddy 5k in under 45 minutes, NOT! Lol’
The group via Kimberley, raised a superb £477.00 for Cancer Research UK with help from friends & work colleagues, which they greatly appreciate and wish to thank all who sponsored them.
A few before and after photos on the day are provided below for everyones enjoyment, with Kimberley and family covered in mud by the end of the race, but in receipt of their medals for their achievement.
Ends.
