M73 northbound J1 Maryville to J2 Baillieston

Road users are advised that the M73 northbound will be closed overnight from Junction 1 Maryville to Junction 2 Baillieston for two nights, between 8pm to 6am each night, commencing on Monday 12 October 2020.

These closures have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption to traffic and are required to ensure road user and road worker safety whilst we undertake essential surfacing works.. The road will re-open at 6am each morning.

As a result, the following link roads and slip roads will be closed:

• M74 northbound Link Road to M73 northbound at M74 Junction 4 Maryville
• M74 southbound Link Road to M73 northbound at M74 Junction 4 Maryville
• M73 northbound on-slip road from Daldowie

Signed diversion routes will be in place as follows:

For M74 northbound Link Road: via M74 northbound Junction 2A Fullarton off-slip, take 4th exit on roundabout to return M74 southbound Junction 2A Fullarton on-slip, continue M74 southbound to Junction 5 Raith off-slip, take 1st exit on roundabout for A725 northbound Bellshill, continue A725 northbound to M8 eastbound Junction 7A Shawhead on-slip, continue M8 eastbound to Junction 7 Eurocentral off-slip, return to M8 westbound at Junction 7 on-slip, continue M8 westbound to Junction 8 Baillieston off-slip to Baillieston roundabout for A8, A89 or M73 northbound.

For M74 southbound Link Road: continue M74 southbound to Junction 5 Raith off-slip, 1st exit on roundabout for A725 northbound Bellshill and follow the diversion route above.

For Daldowie on-slip to M73 northbound: via M74 northbound Junction 3A Daldowie on-slip, M74 northbound Junction 2A Fullarton off-slip, 4th exit on roundabout to return M74 southbound Junction 2A Fullarton on-slip, continue M74 southbound to Junction 5 Raith off-slip, 1st exit on roundabout for A725 northbound Bellshill, and follow the diversion route above.

These works will be carried out by Scottish Road Partnership (SRP) on behalf of Transport Scotland to maintain the integrity and safety of this route.

These works have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, Amey (South West Operating Company) and Glasgow City Council.

Please note, all works are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
